NEWS: I’m back from hiatus! No, I haven’t finished my novel (updates over here) but I missed writing about history on a regular basis. I hope to update at least once a month going forward but probably won’t be sending out newsletters on a monthly basis. Probably closer to once every three months or so. We’ll see. I’m still active elsewhere online: if you enjoy historical fiction, you can check out my book blog over there or if you’re interested in learning more about the historical fiction novel I’m working on, you can sign up for updates over here. Thanks friends!
History fans have a new podcast to enjoy!
I’ve followed Dana Schwartz on Twitter for a few years now and have always found her to be a delight. She hosts Noble Blood, a new podcast produced by iHeartMedia and Lore creator Aaron Mahnke.
“Noble Blood explores the stories of some of history’s most fascinating royals: the tyrants and the tragic, the murderers and the murdered, and everyone in between.
The world is full of ill-fated love affairs, bad decisions, and family drama, but for a monarch, the personal will determine the fate of nations.
And when you’re wearing a crown, mistakes tend to mean blood.”
The first episode debuted on July 9th and featured the bloody and tragic end of Marie Antoinette. The podcast feels very much like Aaron Mahnke’s podcasts; lots of brooding background melodies and deadly seriously, dramatic narrative which Dana Schwartz pulls off excellently.
If you’re a fan of history with a touch of morbidity, Noble Blood is definitely worth checking out.
